LPF Organizer · Version 1.0.1

Frequently Asked Questions

Sensible answers. The occasional raised eyebrow.

Everything you wanted to know about LPF Organizer, plus a few things we suspect you were too polite to ask.

Do I have to follow a particular workflow?

Absolutely not. Copy or move your photographs without culling, renaming or editing metadata—or use whichever of those tools you find useful. No compulsory rituals.

Do I need an account?

No. Not even a password to forget next Tuesday.

Where are my photographs uploaded?

Nowhere. LPF Organizer works with your local files and folders. No cloud account is required.

Is there a subscription?

No. We briefly considered charging you monthly to open your own folders, but it seemed rather impolite. LPF Organizer is free; donations are optional.

Does it create a photo catalogue?

No. Your folders are allowed to remain folders. LPF Organizer does not require a proprietary photo catalogue.

Can I keep my existing filenames?

Yes. Leave “Rename using template” turned off. Folder organization and filename renaming are separate choices.

Do I have to cull my photographs before copying them?

No. Leave “Use Cull selections” off in Organize to process photos without using your culling decisions.

Does Reject delete a photograph?

No. Reject is a culling decision, not an immediate deletion command. Review your chosen organization options before running any file operation.

Can I edit metadata for several photographs?

Yes. The Metadata workspace supports selecting photographs and applying metadata changes to a selection. Review the fields you intend to change before clicking Apply.

Will it change my RAW image pixels?

No. Descriptive metadata is handled using XMP sidecar files. Copying, moving and renaming are file operations, so a backup is still sensible.

What about RAW+JPEG pairs?

Associated RAW and JPEG files can be handled together as one logical photograph.

Can I use Lightroom, Capture One or Nitro alongside it?

Yes, as part of a folder-based workflow. LPF Organizer does not develop RAW images. Different editors may have their own XMP conventions, so test a few files before combining bulk metadata edits across applications.

Does it work offline?

Yes, for normal photo organization and metadata work. The photographs do not need to leave your computer.

Why does macOS ask me to approve the app?

The current 1.0.1 download is not Apple-notarized. Follow the installation guidance on the LPF Organizer page and approve it only if you obtained it from the official website or GitHub release.

Why is LPF Organizer free?

Because useful software does not always need a subscription and a boardroom. If it makes your life easier, a coffee is welcome—but never required.

Still wondering? Get in touch. Found something useful? Coffee is always welcome.
